Knowing how to find the best keywords for use in your Adsense ads is not a straightforward process. Finding and implementing high profit, low competition keywords in your ads really is the trick for making Adsense payoff big.

The following process should yield profitable, low competition keywords for your Adsense ads. This process is not perfect, but when you analyze it and try it for yourself, you can see that it makes sense. Adsense that is.

Step 1 Research some keywords for your niche that have a high CPC value. To do this, first find your keywords using the Google Adwords keyword tool or another tool that will give you niche specific lists of keywords. Save those keywords into a spreadsheet program as a csv file. Copy and paste those keywords into Google's Traffic Estimator (you will need an Adwords account). The traffic estimator will give you the estimated clicks per day and the average cost per click (CPC) for each keyword. Copy and paste this information back into your spreadsheet file for later reference.

Step 2 Multiply the average CPC by 30% to get an estimate of your maximum earnings per click. The higher the average CPC, the more likely the CPC for the 2nd - 8th positions are high as well. You want this higher average CPC to start because if the CPC starts to drop off significantly after the 3rd position, your chance of getting high click earnings as an Adsense publisher will be diminished.

Step 3 Use any one of many tools available on the internet for helping to estimate the 1st - 8th position CPC values. These tools will estimate the CPCs for each position and allow you to see how much the CPCs drop off after the first position. This dramatically helps your analysis for picking the most profitable keywords. If the CPC values stay close to the each other and to the value of the first position, then you will more than likely have a profitable keyword.

Step 4 Now determine which Adsense ads occupy which positions. You can do this by searching on Google for your keyword and looking to see which Adsense ads are generated in the search results and in which order they are. Another way to estimate this is to use the Adwords Accelerator tool. It has a feature whereby Adwords ads are dynamically displayed for a given keyword you input into the tool to check. Step 5 Compare the ads you found in step 4 to the results of using a keyword check function tool (available on the internet). If the advertisers you find by doing this closely match those you found in step 4, you will more than likely have a profitable keyword.

If the advertisers are not he same, then the advertiser is possibly not using the "Adwords for Content" mode of advertising in his campaigns. This means that the keyword may not be the basis for the Adsense ads and may not be profitable.

Step 6 Now you must get the traffic. If you decide to get traffic using the Adwords approach, then just use the keywords in your Adsense ads that scored well from the above evaluation. Then, use lower cost per click keywords in your Adwords ads. The difference between the earnings from the click you get on your Adsense word from the cost of the click you pay on your Adwords word will be your profit.

If you are planning to use search engine optimization techniques to get traffic to the website where your ads are, make sure the keywords you choose have the highest KEI possible. KEI is the ratio of the number of searches for a keyword to the number of competing sites having the keyword. The combination of a high KEI and a high score from the above evaluation will yield the best profit results.

Cutting a somewhat long story short, what you need to be aware of is that in the waning months of 2005 Google made a few select tweaks to its Adsense algorithm that effectively pulled the plug on Adsense Joy riders (Adsense scammers).

The Adsense Joy riders were the folks who were pulling in huge Adsense revenues by directing tons of irrelevant traffic to their Adsense-template sites (Adsense-specific optimized sites). So how were the Adsense joy riders able to corral such tremendous amounts of traffic? Simple! Just pay for thousands of visitors to their sites for a nominal fee; e.g., they could get 100,000 visitors directed to their sites for about $100 bucks!

For the Adsense joy rider it mattered little whether those visitors constituted relevant traffic or not; or to put it another way, it was immaterial whether the visitor to the site was actually interested or actively looking for the subject matter of the site.

The only thing that mattered to the Adsense joy rider was that the traffic came from different IP addresses such that when the Adsense ads on their sites were clicked, each click registered as originating from a different IP address. This was necessary in order to avoid accusations of click fraud (click fraud is said to have occurred when multiple clicks are registered from the same IP address. Click fraud is a really old school technique (that was quickly nullified by Google) to boost one's own Adsense revenue.

The other hurdle the Adsense joy riders had to over come was how to get traffic unconcerned about the topic of their Adsense (template) website to click on their ads. This was achieved quite easily. By having pretty much nothing else on such a webpage, the Adsense joy rider dramatically boosted the click through rate of their Adsense ads; after all, what else could the hapless visitor do other than click on a Google Adsense ad or click their back button...

Most people actually tended to reflexively click on an Adsense ad with the result, ka-ching Adsense guru just got paid...and paid a lot!

Anyway the advertisers started complaining to Google that their advertising money was being wasted, Google listened and tweaked a little bit more and effectively slowed the Adsense joy ride to a dead halt. It was about this time that the Adsense joy riders (Adsense sneakmeisters) began selling their products...and selling them hard!

They had ample proof that there was money to be made from Google Adsense and they certainly weren't shy about sharing that proof.

But what the poor Adsense-wannabe millionaires who bought those overpriced products did not know was that the techniques outlined in those courses were defunct. Because it is there, it is fun and it is free. If you are reading this, you obviously have some interest in the internet. You do not even have to have your own website, although the more sites you use Google Adsense on, the more money you will make. For example, anyone can write a blog even if it is just your own opinion on something.

You can also make money referring other people to Google Adsense. By placing a referral button on your site you increase your earnings potential. When a publisher that you referred makes their initial $100.00 within 90 days of sign-up and is eligible for payout, your account will also be credited $100.00. Additionally, they must never have registered for a Google Adsense account before.

Suppose, for example, you started in January and at the end of the month you had not yet accumulated $100.00 in your Google Adsense account. You would then need to wait and see if your January and February earnings combined equal $100.00. Another good reason to also use Adsense for Search is that you get to combine the earnings to reach the $100.00 payout minimum. So if your earnings for Adsense for Content do not reach $100.00 in time for the current payout, but when combined with your Adsense for Search earnings they do meet the payout minimum, you will be paid accordingly.

Sitting one day at Palazzo Barbarini - a wonderful hotel in the heart of Rome - I decided to take a walk to a local Italian trattoria for lunch.

With a cold chianti in hand I ordered a meal of lightly grilled salmon with a wonderful rich Italian sauce.

In an instant" I recalled a story my friend Rohan Skea had told me. Whilst I am unable to recount the poetry of his words I remember he told me this:

“It is a rare privilege to share the beauty of our wilderness. Our environment is so fragile, so beautiful. I recall the day that I was involved in a tagging process for Native fish" it was an important expedition to watch the migratory patterns of the fish so that future generations could ensure their protection.

The glacial lakes were spectacular in their beauty that day. It was crisp and clear…the sunlight touched the water like a thousand sparkling diamonds, and across the water…nervous in anticipation of our presence, the native deer came to the lakes edge to drink. It was as if they were kissing the heart of natures well.

It was a scene of rare and profound beauty. Something that we must all strive to ensure that is preserved for generations to come.”

As my salmon was served to me…it invoked the memory of Skea’s words. How little it takes to be respectful of that which we share this wonderful planet with, and what a difference we could make if we shared some of Skea’s values.

"Only New York Artists Honored in Beijing Olympics Unveil 32 Foot Tall Public Waterfront Sculpture" by Diane Weisbeck

International award winning husband and wife sculpture design team, Mark and Diane Weisbeck, the only artist finalists to represent both New York as well as the United States in the 2008 Beijing, China Olympic Landscape Sculpture Competition have recently unveiled a 32 foot tall, 2 and 1/2 ton solid brass and gold stainless steel public waterfront monument. The American made brass was hand patinaed to a beautiful blue/green. The gold dyed stainless steel was from Japan, as it is not available in the U.S.

Hailed as the "Gateway Signature Welcome Sculpture" to the city of Rochester, New York, "Water Spirits," was unveiled by the Mayor of Rochester on July 11, 2008.

A crane was used to lift Diane Weisbeck 30 feet in the air, so she could cut the ribbons and unveil the sculpture to the public.

The sculpture is located at Corn Hill Landing, Rochester, New York, USA. A New York State Department of State Grant was used to commission the sculpture.
